#HFS2018

I started this Blog when I first started working with the North Lake College Summer Hawaiian Field Studies course. I knew that in 2 weeks, I would learn so much and I needed a place to document it. I was right. I went back through my pictures when I got home and thought, "Did we stop here? I don't remember this!". So I went back to my Blog and was reminded of that moment. So many great moments, so many great stories...here is where I document them. Please read, enjoy, send me questions, comments, etc.

I will be streaming live using Periscope on my Twitter Page. Follow me @Laronna_D on Twitter and @ldoggett on Instagram
Follow the class @ nlchfs on Twitter and Instagram

56 days...

A. B.

So why should these two pictures make me think about Hawaii?  Well...

Exhibit A - a Plumeria plant that I bought 2 years ago in Hawaii is back outside.  If you look closely, there are little red tips on each branch.  Leaves are about to start growing = summer is near! It sheds its leaves each fall and winter, but it seems to be doing fine.

Exhibit B - Happy Easter!  Mom bought me a new travel purse!  My phone will easily fit in it (super important!) and then I can actually carry change.  Odd, I know, but my last purse would only allow me to carry either a cell phone or change.  I had a baggie in my camera bag where I would dump my change.

On another note:
The first big class was last weekend.  I did not Blog about anything last weekend because it was just to busy.  Saturday was class from 9 AM-3 PM, nap, Pre-prom dinner from 5:45 - 7:30 PM, Prom from 9 PM - 1 AM back to class on Sunday from 9 AM - 3 PM.  I got home around 4:30 PM and took a nap.  Anyway, the class was good.  Birds, plants, Hawaiian culture, Coppell Nature Park Hike, plants, birds, etc.

56 days!
